I got a call to pick up a passenger at the Tall Ship dock. It was dark out, a bit choppy, and this dock can be squirrely because of all the tires hanging off her to fend off larger vessels. While pulling in, I saw the MBTA ferry Rookie headed in. I was clearly in a rush to avoid disrupting the ferry so quickly pulled up port side to the dock. Without missing a beat and between the rolls of the boat, a tall, young woman leapt aboard with more grace than I could ever muster even in my younger days. She gracefully sat down as we pulled away. I commented that she should join the ballet. She looked at me quizzically and said she’s a dancer for the Boston Ballet. We had a great chat while heading to the Seaport. She was a thoughtful and dynamic spokesperson for the art culture in Boston and a passionate advocate for the ballet. So, Courtney, if you remember Capt. Rick, my wife and I will watch for you at your performance of Jewels this November. Please check out www.bostonballet.org for more information
